Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ4) is a 43-amino acid peptide that is the main intracellular G-actin sequestering protein in most mammalian cells. It plays a fundamental role in cell migration, wound healing, and tissue regeneration. Thymosin Beta-4 was initially isolated from thymus tissue but is found in virtually all cell types. The peptide promotes angiogenesis, reduces inflammation, and enhances tissue repair through multiple mechanisms including activation of satellite cells, promotion of keratinocyte and endothelial cell migration, and modulation of inflammatory cytokines. TB-500 is the synthetic version most commonly used in research, representing the active fragment of this peptide.
