Peptide Safety Guide — Risk Awareness & Best Practices
Essential safety information for peptide research. This guide covers sterile technique, storage, side effects to monitor, and harm reduction principles.
Sterile Technique
Always use bacteriostatic water — never tap water or saline
Swab vial tops and injection sites with 70% isopropyl alcohol
Never reuse needles
Dispose of sharps in an approved sharps container
Storage
Lyophilized peptides: store at -20°C or refrigerated, away from light
Reconstituted peptides: refrigerate at 2–8°C, use within 30–60 days
Never freeze a reconstituted peptide
Common Side Effects to Monitor
Injection site reactions (redness, swelling, bruising)
Flushing or warmth after growth hormone peptides
Nausea at higher doses (especially GLP-1 peptides)
Fatigue, water retention, tingling — report and adjust protocol accordingly
