In plain terms: It switches on several melanocortin receptors, which affect skin pigment and sexual arousal. Non-selective melanocortin-receptor agonist (including MC1R and MC4R). Its reported effects in humans are increased skin pigmentation, spontaneous penile erection and sexual stimulation (review and case report, Peters 2020).
